So, while we observe that our ego identity is void or hollow, as it does not exist except as part of the Infinite Intelligence of Intelligent Infinity (the Creation), we also observe that the development and growth of our spirit is the path that will propel us through many lifetimes. This is the great paradox; where at the same time as we don’t really exist in an individual, independent sense, we face many lifetimes of rebirth to develop our consciousness and perfect our awareness. To one who is observant enough to deduce its relationship with the Creation, the questions then arise:
- How does the spirit develop?
- What states does it attain? and
- Why does one seek such development?
There are scientific frameworks that have been proposed, such as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs that demonstrate the logical progression and interdependence of states on the path to realisation of individual potential. But without recognising the fundamental nature of perceived reality as being Śūnyatā, dependent on the light and consciousness (love) of the Creator then they are devoid of fundamental truth. Instead, a similar model, but one that does recognise the causal dependence on the light and love of the Creator is the model of Chakra energy centres.
